Butterflies swirled round and round my tummy as I waited for my name to be called. I was about to sing at the musical hour. The wait was long and I watched lots of acts before me. It reminded me of my dad when he gets up and sings. Then I heard it, everyone heard it - my name had just been called. I was shaking as I walked up the stairs to the stage. I felt like running away. My teacher could see that I was scared and said “You will be fine”. The music started and I started to sing. I had nearly made it through the whole song. But I shouldn't have spoken too soon... I started singing the wrong words! Everyone looked at me with confusion. I was so embarrassed, but I had backup - my singing teacher rushed onto the stage and started singing with me to get my words in line. It all ended in clapping and cheering. I felt proud that I had done it even though I made a mistake.
